Secret Jacksonville Walking Tour

James Weldon Johnson Park, 135 West Monroe St, Jacksonville, FL 32202

Join author Bill Delaney for a tour of spots featured in the new book Secret Jacksonville. Writer Bill Delaney, co-owner of TheJaxsonMag.com and Edible Northeast Florida Magazine, has spent years researching Jacksonville’s underknown and underrepresented stories. His new book, Secret Jacksonville: A Guide to the Weird, Wonderful, and Obscure is dedicated to profiling the forgotten, mysterious, and just plain interesting spots across Jacksonville and the First Coast.

Join him for a walking tour of some of these places around Downtown Jacksonville. Hear the stories of Jacksonville’s underground tunnels, the locomotive buried beneath a skyscraper, a lost (and fictitious) Native American city, a long-destroyed sculptural masterpiece that will soon be reborn in Jacksonville, underknown Jax music history, and much more lying just off the beaten path. Meet up at James Weldon Johnson Park. Street parking is free on Saturdays. Tickets are $15 (kids 12 and under are free); signed copies of Secret Jacksonville are also available
